I began my first love for fragrances when I was 6 years old. It  was the day I was sitting on my father’s lap and smelled the fragrance he was wearing.  I instantly fell in love with his scent! My love for fragrances continued to grow as I sampled my mother's fragrances as a young girl.   After many years of experimenting with many different scents and realizing how amazing they made me feel, I opened up a boutique in the mall selling fragrances. Later, I began working for Dillards as an associate and was soon promoted to the fragrance manager.  During my employment, Dillards sent me to school to become a Certified Fragrance Specialist. I also became the Chanel Ambassador. I was the only Pace Setter for the Cosmetics Department for 10 consecutive years.  For eight of the years while at Dillards, I had the pleasure of serving as a Fragrance Specialist for Congressman John Lewis, in addition to other well-known celebrities who trusted and valued my expertise.

After leaving Dillards, I was inspired to launch my own Fragrance Business, "That Smells Familiar." I own and operate the business with my daughter Tiana Alston.

We are very excited and passionate about educating our clients about wearing our designer fragrances. For example, we teach our clients about  the best areas of the body to apply our fragrances, as well as suggest the best scents to wear for specific occasions and seasons. We take pride in providing our clients with a wealth of knowledge about our perfume oils, lotions, shower gels, body mists, aluminum-free deodorants, as well as our other products.

I truly believe that people are not fully clothed without a scent, as  fragrances are the finishing touch to dressing for the day. I also believe and live by my motto, "Smell Good Feel Good!"
